I decided to do the same review of Twitter that I did for Facebook. I reviewed twitter feeds that had more than 300 followers to see what they posted. Here is a summary.
* highlight staff members (link to a Facebook photo with details about staff member or to the library staff directory with photo of staff member)
* several posts per day
* highlight specific resources (new book title, the audiobook collection, other services you may forget about)
* change in hours
* technical issues (database unavailable, printer broken, etc…)
* post information about library events (before, during, and after!)
* promote a campus wide event by highlight a related library resource
These twitter feeds are also promoted on their library homepage and Facebook page.
